Ms. Gabrielle Gellineau was appointed as a Commissioner of the Trinidad and Fair Trading Commission on the 30th January, 2023 by Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Ms. Gellineau an Attorney-at-Law was called to the Bar in Trinidad and Tobago in 2004 after obtaining her Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School having previously attended the University of the West Indies where she obtained her Bachelor of Law‘s Degree. Ms. Gellineau subsequently obtained her Master of Laws in International Commercial Law with Distinction from the London School of Economics in 2008. Thereafter, Ms. Gellineau received apprenticeship training at the CARICOM Secretariat’s Office of Trade Negotiation and then served as a Trade Policy Advisor to the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC).
Ms. Gellineau is a skilled civil litigator who practices in the Civil High Court and Industrial Court arena in Trinidad and Tobago and has provided advice to clients throughout the CARICOM Region, but most recently to clients in St. Kitts, Antigua and Barbuda and St. Lucia. Ms. Gellineau acts as an Attorney-at-Law for several Companies and State Enterprises in various fields of industry including Energy, Telecommunications, Construction and Entertainment providing drafting, negotiating and advisory services relating to commercial contracts, industrial relations, intellectual property, trade related matters and corporate compliance.
