Mrs. Tamara Dewan-Roopansingh was appointed as a Commissioner of the Fair Trading Commission by Her Excellency Christine Kangaloo, the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on April 8, 2026.

She is an executive operations professional with over six years of experience in the public sector, complemented by private-sector expertise in project coordination. She has supported executive leadership within the Office of the Prime Minister, managing high-level administrative functions across records management, human resources, and security operations, while operating with a high degree of discretion, efficiency, and professionalism.

In the private sector, she served as a Project Specialist with a reputable international Canadian firm, where she coordinated multi-regional vendor operations across Canada. In this role, she contributed to consistently high on-time project delivery and strong stakeholder satisfaction, while supporting reporting processes and team development initiatives.

Mrs. Dewan-Roopansingh holds a Master of Business Administration in Project Management (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Management. Her professional expertise includes project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement, with a focus on delivering structured, reliable, and results-driven operational support.
